  • The Komax Triple Action Mixer provides the highest level of mixing of any static mixer. These "In Stock" mixers feature very high mixing efficiency with short mixing length. The Komax motionless mixer achieves high efficiency through triple action mixing. They are designed for use where additives to the main pipeline flow have already been introduced upstream of the mixer.

  • The simple, three step design procedure shown below allows the rapid choice of line size, number of mixing elements and pressure drop. Available from stock, mixers are supplied with two, three or four mixing elements.

    Materials of construction are carbon steel, 316 stainless steel, PVC and fiberglass. Dimensions and design graphs for all ""M"" Series mixers are listed below.

    A unique flow straightener is built right into each mixer to eliminate any downstream centrifugal effects. This allows sensing probes to be located directly downstream of the unit. The additive port on the ""A"" series mixers may be used for a threaded connection to a male pipe thread, or converted to a flanged connection using a nipple and a threaded flange.

    The Triple Action Mixer includes 3 distinct types of mixing:

    Two by Two Division
    KOMAX mixers divide and re-divide the process stream with a series of elements set at right angles to each other. Each element doubles the number of previous divisions. Twenty elements produce over a million divisions and re-combinations.

    Cross Current Mixing
    Special cavities randomize the distribution of material by DIRECT STREAM IMPINGEMENT. This enhances and optimizes the two-by-two division process to make it truly effective.

    Counter-Rotating Vortices & Back-Mixing
    Under turbulent flow, both sides of each KOMAX element produce elliptical vortices rotating in opposite directions. This eliminates the streaming or tunneling effects associated with early static mixer designs. In addition, an optimum degree of BACK-MIXING occurs as material is orbited in the vortex from the front to the back of an element before continuing downstream. This produces a substantial improvement in mixing efficiency.

END CONNECTIONS & AVAILABLE CUSTOM OPTIONS Flanged Ends: Flanged end connections allow for easy mounting of the static mixer into the process pipeline. As a general standard, metal static mixers have raised face flanges per ASME B16.5 or ASME B16.47 (for sizes larger than 24”) standards. Komax can also fabricate mixers to contain DIN (metric) flanges as well. Threaded Ends: Komax Systems specifically offers male and female NPT end connections on static mixers as required. Weld Prep Ends: For custom configuration, Komax Systems offers weld prep end connections on static mixers. Injection Port/Quill: An injection port or quill can be added to the static mixer to allow for an additive stream to be injected directly into the static mixer with desired connection type. Removable mixing elements: Stainless and alloy removable mixing elements are available for cleaning, debris removal or inspection purposes as necessary in the process pipeline. Flow Straightener: A Flow straightener is built into each static mixer assembly to eliminate any downstream centrifugal effects or swirl allowing sensing probes to be located directly downstream of the unit. *All static mixers are custom made; end connection type can be made per customer request.
